Late Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi

The Late Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi, a Founder and former Partner at ILG, brought over 30 years of invaluable experience to the firm. He specialized in international sports law and served as an arbitrator in the Court of Arbitration for Sport. .

Prof. Al-Anezi served as legal advisor to the Minister of Education and Higher Education and was the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at the Olympic Council of Asia. He was a member of FINA’s Ethic Panel, the Supreme Committee for Human Rights (Ministry of Justice), the Permanent Committee for International Humanitarian Law (Ministry of Justice), the Board of Editors of the International Review of the Red Cross (Geneva), and the Board of Editors of the Law Journal published by the Kuwait Lawyers Association. .

Prof. Al-Anezi previously served as the Assistant Dean for Consultations and Training and later the Head of the International Law Department at Kuwait University.

Prof. Al-Anezi holds a PhD in International Law from Cambridge University, a Master of Laws from Tulane University in New Orleans and a Bachelor of Law and Sharia from Kuwait University. He has published over 15 research papers and authored five books. Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi passed away on January 15, 2024. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues.
