Prof. Abdullah Al-Hayyan

Prof. Abdullah Al-Hayyan is a Partner at ILG with 29 years of experience, specializing in local and international trade legislation, corporate and commercial business transactions, Islamic finance, and sports law. At ILG, he is responsible for all the law pertaining to the New Commercial Companies Law, Bankruptcy Law, Public-Private Partnerships Law, and Small Projects Law.

Prof. Al-Hayyan currently serves as the Chair of various local, regional and international sports committees, including the Federation International DE Natation, Association of National Olympic Committees, and Court of Arbitration for Sport. He has also contributed to the development and formulation of several sports regulations in the Gulf region and is a member of numerous regional sports centers.

Prof. Al-Hayyan formerly taught law at Kuwait University and the Gulf University of Science and Technology and worked as an advisor at the Kuwait Investment Authority. He was a key member of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and the Vice Chairman of Legislative Requirements of the Development Plan Committee.

Prof. Al-Hayyan holds a PhD in Corporate Law from the University of Wales, UK. He has published over five research articles and authored one book.
